Class field trip to Golling (north of Salz)

The past week has been a bit slower than the first few weeks.  I'm finally getting into my own routine with taking the bus to class and walking around on my own.

View from the top of the classroom building..

On Wednesday my Folk Art class took the train a short distance to a small town Golling, where a woman has her own weaving business.

View from the train ride to Golling.

The weaving shop has looms that are over 100 years old. The woman uses them to produce beautiful textiles that are shipped to Germany and Italy.. The product is a very beautifully colored rug. This is such an interesting trade that has carried on for years.

Downtown Golling.

March 2nd.

A "Vintage" social media add for Twitter.

                                             Jenna !

New running sneakers for 30 euros.. not a bad price at all!

View looking into the center of the classroom building. Most of the walls are made of glass, which means we can see right into all of the classrooms.  It's naturally lit up which is nice, but I find the classrooms are a bit plain.  From the other side on a sunny day I can sometimes catch a glimpse of the fortress close by.

3.2.2014 Lazy Sunday spent with Isabel in a coffee shop.

Tomorrow (Friday the 7th) I'm heading to Flachau ski resort.  It's smaller, but the transportation is free.  I'm looking forward to skiing again.. my camera is charged and ready!

It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend.. It has been very warm so far.. in the mid 40s I'd say.

My friend Anya offered for us to come with her to Zurich for a night.. so I think we are heading there early Saturday morning.. How exciting! I didn't think I'd be spending any time in Switzerland.  Her cousins are going to show us around.  I'm so psyched!
