Venice

Venice is incredible.  It has honeymoon written all over it with the canals, gondolas, bridges, and best of all, gelato!  We had gelato for brunch, after lunch, and for desert.  When I was in Ireland I felt much closer to home and Venice just felt like a different world.  The streets were so narrow, and packed with tourists, that after awhile I stopped trying to figure out which street I was on exactly. It was nice to just wander around and look at all the souvenir shops.

I'm glad we chose a hostel that was on an island.  Generator Hostel was located on Guidecca, and was SO nice and clean, with a decent breakfast.  We took the ferries everywhere, to Saint Marks Square, and to the island of Murano where they make the hand made glass.

Looking down on Saint Marks Square from the tower.  When the water rises several chairs and tables are set up out here so people don't have to walk through water up to their knees.

Saint Marks Basilica is located at the bottom of this picture. This is where I spent Easter Sunday. :)

The water in Venice is a busy place.

Giudecca!
